Melody commenced working with Pikes and Verekers Lawyers in March 2025 as part of the local government, environmental and planning law team and was recently admitted as a solicitor in March 2026.
Melody regularly appears in the Land and Environment Court where she primarily acts for Councils and Applicants in Class 1 development appeals. She has also assisted with regulatory compliance and environmental prosecution matters in the Local Court. Melody has experience in assisting with acting for Councils in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal in relation to access to information requests under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Melody has also drafted legal advice for clients seeking access to government information held by Councils.
Melody has contributed to legal updates published by Pikes and Verekers and to the Environment & Planning Law Association’s (EPLA NSW) Environmental Law Reporter.
Prior to joining Pikes and Verekers, Melody held experience working in personal injury and legal costs, where she assisted with costs assessment applications to the Supreme Court of NSW. In 2023, Melody was fortunate enough to have spent a year living abroad in Belgium studying politics at KU Leuven.
